Office Closure - April 15 Update
Dear Valued Patients of King East Dental,
As we continue to live through this very unusual time, it is more important than ever that we continue to stay in contact with you. This has been a very difficult time for myself, Dr. Neal, and our entire team at King East Dental as we are not able to provide for you the care that you require. Dental offices across Ontario, and across Canada, have been asked by our governing college and health ministry to close for all treatment except for extreme emergency care. This is primarily to protect the public from person-to-person contact and risk of transmitting the coronavirus. In addition, by not seeing patients on a regular basis, we are preserving personal protective equipment (PPE’s). These are in short supply and needed by our frontline workers and care-givers.
Please know that we are still available to speak with you if you have concerns. You can call our office at 905-662-7722 and leave a message on the answering machine. We check the messages regularly and will return your calls as soon as possible. You may also send a text message to 905-541-1208. We have had the pleasure of speaking with many of you over the past few weeks, and giving you guidance with any dental concerns that you have. For those situations that need attention, we will be in contact with you as soon as we are able to resume seeing patients and will schedule appointments for you to be cared for promptly. We certainly thank you all for being so understanding and supportive of us. It is our primary goal to help you and care for you in which ever way we can during this time.
While the news media and social media may be filled with many negative stories and show instances of people not practicing the recommended behaviours during this time, I am so happy to hear of all the positive stories. In speaking with so many of you, everybody is very positive about staying at home and practicing good hygiene. When it is necessary to go out, people are certainly conscious of maintaining social distance and wearing gloves and masks in public. You don’t need medical gloves and masks – you can wear your regular gloves, and a home-made mask or scarf is better than not having anything. I have heard so many stories of neighbours helping each other and checking in on friends and family, especially older people. Let’s all keep helping in this way so that we can make the situation better!
At this time, we are not certain when we will be able to see you again. We hope that it is soon, but most importantly it must be safe. In the meantime, our team is in constant communication and we are putting protocols into place so that you will have a safe environment in which to visit us. Some things may be different, but it is for everyone’s health and safety. We will certainly keep you posted.
Until we see you, be healthy and safe.
